We have an 8 hour drive back to Washington for a work trip tomorrow and needed a quick morning tour today to keep us from going crazy in the car. We traversed out a roadside ridge at Lolo dropping down to a snowmobile road and climbing back up a few times. We found 2.5 feet of fresh snow since last week, blue skies, warming temps and some hints of buried hoar frost and wind loading. It was great to be able to get a three hour tour with lots of turns in without lapping any slopes or crossing other ski tracks.
